In North London, the October air is always cold and piercing, but Phineas was oblivious to it as he immersed himself in a Halloween party. Over the past few months, he had spent most of his time indoors diligently laying the groundwork for his streetwear brand. The party was hosted in a popular lounge in the city and was enveloped in a dark and smoky haze created by the fog machines. The music volume was loud, yet low enough to allow the murmurs of joyous patrons to seep through. Phineas attempted to enjoy himself, but his thoughts kept shifting toward the piles of papers on his desk which contained sketches, journal entries, branding ideas, and various business documents. Undoubtedly, his mind was clouded. At the time, he didn’t have a name, a style, or a theme for his brand; all he had was a burning desire to build his company.

Frustrated, Phineas grabbed himself a drink and found solace in a lounging area, where he tried to regain focus. After a few minutes, he closed his eyes and drifted into a daydream. Through the haze, a blurry figure gradually materialized. It was a tall, handsome young man dressed in a futuristic costume reminiscent of a video game, The Matrix, or Blade Runner 2049. The dark, loosely fitting jacket and pants were covered with neon green accents and featured an abundance of pockets, zippers, and compression straps. The fascinating man also wore a dark mask and a baseball cap with neon green colored contacts. He had an otherworldly air to his appearance. Eventually, Phineas realized his eyes were open, and this enigmatic figure was no mere figment of his imagination; he was real, even though he resembled a character from a movie. Without wasting another moment, Phineas sprang up and glided towards the man, extending his hand for a firm handshake. The man introduced himself as Jasper, and a brief conversation ensued. The burning question Phineas couldn’t wait to ask finally escaped his lips: “What is your costume meant to be?” Jasper, with effortless confidence, replied, “I’m a Cyberpunk.” At that moment, Phineas had more inspiration than he’d ever felt in his entire life. Almost instantaneously, the fog that had clouded his mind for months seemed to dissipate.

In the months that followed the Halloween party, Phineas poured his heart and soul into his work–sketching, developing the brand, building the website, and bringing his streetwear ideas to life. As the launch date drew near, Phineas took a step back to reflect on his arduous journey. His dreams were finally materializing, and a deep sense of pride washed over him. In 2021, Cyberesque was launched online and has since expanded to two locations in North London. The brand has carved a distinct niche in style trends and fashion and has become a symbolic and renowned fashion brand in the region. In his speeches, Phineas frequently credits much of his success to Jasper, hoping for a serendipitous reunion with him someday.
